I purchased my first home when I was 23 years old, at the time I was working as a master automobile technician, I fell in love with houses! I embraced all aspects of this house, stripped it down to the studs and rebuilt it with help of friends in the trades. I learned along the way and finally sold it to do another one and made a handsome profit due to the "sweat equity". I became proficient with buying & selling these homes after renovations while having my day job in the auto industry.
Eventually I developed the desire to enter the real estate industry as an appraiser. I approached an appraiser I knew and her response was" with your mechanical and technical background you should be a home inspector"... So in 2002 I became an ASHI certified Home inspector. Around that time the state had adopted new building codes so I decided to become active in Building Code Enforcement and became certified with the International Code Council in 13 categories:
In 2005 I was approached by the township I lived in to be the Building Code Official for the Municipality, then established a Third Party Inspection Agency with the Commonwealth and provided Code Enforcement in 12 surrounding townships. All the while we were also doing home inspections. Home inspections are and always have been my passion. I became certified as a Septic Inspector with The National Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association. A Radon Measurement Technician with the National Radon Safety Board, Building Performance Institute Certified performing Blower Door & Duct testing. Now living in South Carolina I’m continuing to persue my passion of performing building code and home inspections, I have dedicated my professional career to the building, housing and real estate industries and will provide you with an accurate, detailed assessment of your property purchase.
